Abstract

Deals with test sets of microsatellite markers for verification of origin (parenthood), characterization of genetic diversity and for the study of the genetic structure of the population in sheep on based on the length variability of short repeating fragments (microsatellites). The essence lies 10 in that the genome sections containing selected microsatellite loci are amplified (Short Tandem Repeats (STR) using polymerase chain reaction (PCR) with a set of specific primers and subsequent fragmentation analysis of product lengths.
