Invention relates to a new kit of single-base-extension oligonucleotide primers for accurate, fast and sensitive simultaneous determining a total of 8 SNPs in the promoter region of the gene MYF5 in cattle. This transcription factor is important in terms of growth ability and meat production and is considered as molecular marker for cattle breeding. SNaPshot method employing the new kit of primers is suitable for genotyping even 20 SNPs simultaneously and allows thus significantly shortening and cheapening of the whole laboratory process in comparison e.g. with conventional PCR-RFLP.
