| Abstract | Rabbit behaviour, which in the wild is shaped by social structure, territoriality, and hierarchical relationships, is fundamental to understanding the challenges associated with group housing. From an animal welfare perspective, this represents a complex issue, the solutions to which may not always align with human perceptions of ideal husbandry practices. Both scientific research and practical experience indicate that successful group housing of rabbits requires a profound understanding of the animals themselves, as well as the environment in which they live or are kept. |
