Abstract | The presented technology focuses on optimizing the use of biological additives in silage making for forages with varying ensiling properties. It defines procedures for the correct selection of biological silage additives according to the type of ensiled crop (corn, alfalfa) and the desired objective (improved fermentation, extended aerobic stability, or both). The technology establishes optimal application procedures including recommended chop length, dry matter content, additive dosage, and silage making process. Experimental verification demonstrated that even lower doses of biological inoculants (1 g/ton) are sufficiently effective, which increases economic efficiency. When following the established technological procedures, improvements in the fermentation process, reduction of nutrient losses, increased aerobic stability, and overall enhancement of silage quality can be achieved. |
