Abstract

The aim of our study were assessment the impact of climate extremes on selected physiological parameters in different types of calf housing. The four types of individual pens were observed on one farm during 8 years period. Three types of individual hutches were placed outside, those were made of various materials: wood, polyethylene, tarpaulin; one type of individual pens was situated under shelter. We monitored breath, heart beats, rectal and surface body temperatures. The high air temperature increases in respiratory rate, heart rate, rectal and surface body temperatures. The low temperature decreases in respiratory rate, rectal and surface body temperatures.
