Abstract

The aim of this study was to determine the effect of air temperature and relative humidity on selected milking parameters (milk yield, milk frequency) in the AMS. Data from three farms with AMS were obtained in 2014 – 2017. The results show that milk yield and milking frequency were kept at the highest levels at optimum values of air temperature and relative humidity. High air temperatures (above 22 °C) negatively impacted milk yield. However, the milking frequency was more affected by low temperatures than high temperatures. This finding can be explained by higher occurrence of higher humidity in the cold season of the year.
