Abstract

Mammalian oocytes and one – cell stage embryos contain specific nucleoli. Their number and position in zygotes has been used as an indicator of further embryo development. It has been suggested that the transplantation of extra nucleoli can eventuelly rescue those embryos with aberrant nucleolar pattern. Our results show that this will not as simple as originally expected.
