Abstract

The methodology is focused on comparing the performance and quality indicators of chickens fed a diet with different levels of cricket meal. Insects are an important source of protein, antimicrobial peptides, minerals, vitamins and fat. And due to its rapid growth, easy reproductive ability and favorable feed conversion, it can be considered an important alternative source of protein in poultry feed, for which it is a natural part of the diet during outdoor farming. However, there is still little information available on this issue. The methodology therefore provides new information with regard to the suitability of the inclusion of cricket meal into mixed feed for broiler chickens, determined on the basis of the degree of influence of the performance and meat quality of such fattened chickens.
