The aim of the experiment was to analyze the reproductive performance of sows, the growth of piglets and their losses in different housing systems for farrowing and lactating sows. A significant effect of sow housing on total piglet losses was demonstrated. The highest losses were observed in the free housing system (13.57%), the most common reason was crushing. The effect of sow housing on the individual weight of piglets at weaning and average daily weight gain was evaluated as significant. Piglets from sows housed in the free system showed a higher growth intensity compared to piglets from sows housed in the other two systems.
