Abstract

The aim of the work was to assess the effect of temperature-humidity index (TH1) on daily milk yield and milking frequency on a farm with automatic milking system (AMS) and breeding of the Fleckvieh. As part of the monitoring, three THI zones were identified on the farm, namely the stress-free zone, the very mild stress zone and the mild stress zone. Average daily milk yield was not statistically significantly affected by THI. Also, the milking frequency was not affected by THI. Breeding affiliation (Fleckvieh) can explain why with increasing THI there was no reduction in daily milk yield and the frcquencv of visits to the milking robot on the monitored farm, as was found in studies in the high-production Holstcin breed. It can be assumed that Fleckvieh will be more tolerant of heat due to its production traits.
