With approaching deadline abolition of milk quotas in the framework of the reform of the common agricultural policy established on April 1, 2015 shall be proportionately increased number of analyzes, prognosis, estimates and forecasts in commodity milk after this date. This paper deals with the most important knowledge in the conference „The EU dairy sector: developing beyond 2015“ held in September 2013 the European Commission in Brussels. Abolition of quotas also applies to the Czech Republic, so post states selected indicators in the Czech Republic. The representative of the European Commission pointed to the high variability of the purchase prices milk, growth in exports of dairy products from the EU, the difference between increasing and filling quotas, etc. According to the analysis of future developments abolition of quotas could result in a decline in the cow, higher yielding, higher milk production and decline in purchase prices of milk.
