Abstract | The aim of this monitoring was to evaluate the development of health status in primiparous dairy cows and multiparous in peripartal period with respect to physical condition of animals. Monitoring was performed on the farm of Holstein cows with average milk yield of 9620 kg milk per standard lactation. Groups of primiparous and multiparous dairy cows at 2 to 4 lactation were further divided into two groups according to changes in body condition on the thirty day of lactation. The subgroup A included 12 primiparous and 12 multiparous cows whose BCS (body condition score) during the first month of lactation decreased from 3.25 to 3.75 to 3-3.5. In the subgroup B were 12 cows primiparae and 12 multiparous cows, in which the condition during the same period dropped to 2-2.5. In cows which were found significant decrease of condition (group B) we observed a higher incidence of ketosis, hepatic steatosis, metritis and abomasal displacement in comparison with dairy cows in group A. There were also found significant changes in the metabolic profile and composition of milk. |
