In recent years, a major development in the reproductive performance of pigs has been realized. Sows produce more litters. It is accompanied by a lower birth weight of piglets. Piglets are more demanding in nursing and care during the first days of life. This period is crucial for the next stages of the pig’s life, both in terms of growth and health. The article describes basic principles of nutrition of weaned piglets in terms of achieving good health and achieving good performance.
