The Institute of Animal Science (IAS) was established as a public research institution for the purpose of developing knowledge and transferring knowledge of scientific fields related to the breeding and use of all species and categories of farm animals. The main activity of the institute combines basic and applied research focused mainly on the areas of biological and biotechnological foundations of animal production, molecular and reproductive biology, nutrition and feeding, genetics and breeding, ethology, technology and breeding systems, economics of production and quality of animal products. From its foundation to the present day, it has received significant domestic and international recognition and awards for its activities.
