We found that bringing a pregnant mare mated out of home with a strange stallion into a vicinity of a male who was not the father of her foetus increased probability of pregnancy disruption. Repeated sexual activity either by a home stallion or dominant gelding was observed shortly after the mare came from out-of-home mating and shared the enclosure with a male or males.
