Abstrakt

Until 2023, dairy farms in Czechia could only compare somatic cell counts (SCC) from regular milk tests but were unable to compare disease incidence. Benchmarking is a valuable management tool that fosters reflection and encourages actions to improve specific areas. A prerequisite for its effective implementation is a robust and well-functioning database of relevant data. The Czech Moravian Breeder´s Corporation Inc. offers free use of the web application “Diary of Diseases’ for Czech farmers, which enables electronic evidence of all diseases, including therapy. This application also cooperates with the results of milk recording (SCC, milk yield, milk composition) and reproduction data. This possibility to summarise all available data in one place makes this system unique. The aim of this study is to present the results of this web application designed to compare morbidity rates.
