The programme of screening of the production population of the Czech Red Pied cattle, a local Simmental breed of combined type, for the diversity in innate immunity genes was started in 2016. In parallel with the standard microarray genotyping, the focus at the candidate genes for infection resistance is expected to provide additional information about the full diversity and its phenotypic effects.
