Abstrakt

There is an increasing demand for small breeds of horses worldwide because they are used for children’s sports at all performance levels. Sport performance is closely related with health and correct conformation. Four small breeds are registered in the Czech Republic. The prevailing breed is the Welsh pony followed by the Czech sports pony, the Shetland pony and the Minihorse.
