Abstrakt

In mammals, mature oocytes and early mammalian embryos contain transcriptionally inactive structures – nucleolus precursor bodies. These structures are essential only in a very short time interval post fertilization. They do not participate in embryo nucleologenesis and thus they are not involved in ribosome biogenesis.
