The focus in pig farming is on improving productivity, reducing costs and facilitating human work, but it is also important to pay attention to animal welfare. According to legislation, it is necessary to provide animals with environmental enrichment that enables and supports natural animal behaviour and reduces the incidence of behavioural disorders. Inappropriate animal behaviour or aggression can often be caused by nutrient deficiencies in pigs. Piglets in particular suffer from a lack of certain nutrients after weaning and often have problems with their intake. Therefore, we have designed a nutritional supplement in the form of a toy for pigs in the pre-fattening phase. The result is an environmental enrichment that supplements the diet with important nutrients and allows the animals to exhibit natural behaviours such as exploration, biting and handling materials.
