Abstrakt

Claw disease is known as a serious animal issue with welfare, economic and socioethical aspects of animal production. Prevalence of this disease in the Czech Holstein farms resulted in direct economic loss (economic weight) of -100.08 € per incidence per cow and per year. Actually, the claw health is not used as breeding objective in the local cattle population, nevertheless some type traits of legs (rear leg rear view, foot angle, locomotion and legs) are defined there as criterion in the subindex ‘legs’.
