| Abstrakt | This study compared the nutritive value and digestibility of two maize hybrids (Ceplan and Cefin) grown for silage production under agricultural cooperative conditions. Maize was harvested on the same day and ensiled in plastic bags with a capacity of 1 ton fresh matter. After four months of storage, fermentation parameters and nutritive values were analyzed, including organic matter digestibility (OMD) and NDF digestibility (NDFD) using the in sacco method. Starch content was significantly higher in hybrid Cefin (32.7% DM) compared to hybrid Ceplan (28.0% DM). Conversely, NDF digestibility was significantly higher in hybrid Ceplan (53.6%) than in hybrid Cefin (40.3%). The energy value of silage from hybrid Ceplan reached 6.43 MJ NEL/kg DM, which was significantly higher than hybrid Cefin (6.11 MJ NEL/kg DM). With an intake of 10 kg DM of maize silage daily, dairy cows could produce 1 kg more milk from hybrid Ceplan than from hybrid Cefin. The results demonstrate that even with similar basic nutrient content, different hybrids can exhibit significant differences in digestibility and energy value. |
