On March 12, 2019, Institute of Animal Science and Association of Private Agriculture of the Czech Republic organized a seminar in Prague Uhříněves on the topic „Improving the health and welfare of pigs“ in the presence of private breeders and researchers. The seminar dealt with issues of welfare of pig breeding, which are very current for European pig breeders, in particular the ban on castration of piglets without anesthesia. Other lectures also mentioned efforts to replace the farrowing cages for sows with modern technologies, the African swine fever problem, the influence of nutrition on the health and welfare of pigs. The final lecture was devoted to the Přeštice Black-Pied Pig.
