On October 24, 2019, the 16th International Workshop on Research in Pig Breeding was held, traditionally organized by the Department of Pig Breeding in Kostelec nad Orlicí. In Pension Pod Rozhlednou in Vrbice gathered participants from many regions of the Czech Republic and also from Germany. The lectures focused on the current state and perspectives in pig breeding in the Czech Republic and abroad. Topics of lectures were from the field of genetics, nutrition and reproductive parameters and the veterinary issue of pig breeding was also strongly represented. The workshop met the expectations of all participants and enabled the transfer of new knowledge and their use again, as well as contributing to gaining new contacts and establishing new cooperation in the field of pig breeding research.
