Incomplete metabolic hydrogen recoveries suggested that the reductive acetogenesis exists in caeca of both domestic rabbits and wild hares. In other fermentation traits, however, both animal species seemed to differ, although we should determine the effect of the quantity and quality of the intake for the two species.
