Abstract | This text represents the second part of the research on suckling behaviour in zebras kept at Dvůr Králové Zoo. Four main behavioural parameters of suckling behaviour (suckling bout rejection, duration, frequency, and termination) among all three species are compared and possible explanations are discussed. Whereas, termination and rejection seems to be affected by ecological adaptations, the suckling bout duration and frequency reflect social needs of the foal. |
