Abstract

The alphaS1-casein (CSN1S1) locus in the goat is characterized by a polymorphism and is encoded by at least 17 alleles including null alleles. The null allele CSN1S1-01 is very interesting for further study, because directly affect milk properties, or itcan be used for special human nutrition. In this note, we report a new allele specific polymerase chain reaction (AS-PCR) method for detecting this allele.
