Abstract | The aim of this study was to investigate a relationship between various rate of dairy cows locomotion and their feed intake and milk production. The daily monitoring of the frequency and the time of feed intake, the amount of feed intake, live weight and milk yield was done on the group of 30 dairy cows consisted of 23 the Holstein and 7 cows of the Czech Fleckvieh breeds. Locomotion score was evaluated ones a week. The milk yield was mostly affected by parity, breed and the number of days in lactation. The cows on a higher lactation had more problems with walking. Problems with walking and the average live weight of the cows are in the direct relation. The number of visits at the mangers and the time spent there were decreasing with the higher rate of limping which was balanced by the faster intake of feed. |
