The article summarizes the latest results achieved in the solution of the ending project supported by the National Agency for Agricultural Research QK1910217. The project was carried out for five years and was focused on „Creating a reference population and developing procedures for estimating the genomic breeding values of the traits of pigs included in the Czech National Breeding Program“. The paper characterized the current system of selection and breeding, the sampling system for genotyping, and also listed the results achieved during the solution of the project and their practical application in practice. Among the results of the project, it was mentioned, for example, the introduction of genomic evaluation in pigs, specifically for boar sperm quality traits.
