Abstract

The present invention relates to a set of specific DNA primers for detecting alleles affecting the occurrence and modification of the horse coat color by molecular genetics techniques. The utility model contains sequence-specific, oligonucleotide extension primers for the simutaneous detection of a total of seven alleles at Extension, Aguti, Cream, Overo, Sabino and Champagne loci. Methods for the SNPs detection are performed by the kit according to the invention on the principle of two separate polymerase chain reactions (PCR) and subsequent capillary electrophoresis of fluorescence-labeled length fragments in an automatic DNA sequencer (analysis of fragments based on minisequencing technigue, SNaPshot). The resulting genotypes are determined using GeneMapper software v.4.0.
