The jumping performance of horses is constantly increasing. In order to maintain the competitiveness of the Czech breeding of sports horses with foreign associations producing sports horses, it is necessary to select only the genetically best individuals for breeding. Best Linear Unbiased Prediction (BLUPjis the most widely used model for predicting breed values. When predicting breed values using the BLUP – Animal model method, the actual performance, performance of the offspring or the performance characteristics of the ancestors is not taken into account separately, but data on all sources of information are processed simultaneously, which leads to a more accurate indication of the breed values of all individuals.
