Abstract | Show-jumping is one of the most popular equestrian disciplines where the general aim of competitors is to achieve the fewest faults in a limited time within a course. Therefore, the data of 645 performances (144 riders, 222 horses) during the Western European League (2017/2018) were analysed. The results showed that faults were not randomly distributed, and that performance success depended on different factors according to the type of round. This new information can help the riders and trainers focus on more complicated jumps during training. The results can also help the course designers create competitions of varying difficulties. |
