Abstract | The methodic deals with problematic of feeding dried distiller`s grains (DDGS) to dairy cows with focus on the milk production, milk content and health status of the cows. It is based on the hypothesis that the production of dried distiller`s grains as coproduct of bioethanol production will increase in next years, and that distiller`s grains are high quality feed rich in crude protein, energy, phosphorus and sulfur with favourable dietetic effects. The distiller`s grains contains high quality protein, from which is approximately 50% rumen-undegradable and therefore they can replace the part of protein feeds in the feed ration, particularly the soybean meal. Presence of phosphorus and sulfur in the distiller`s grains contributes towards optimization of rumen fermentation, better ammonia utilization and higher microbial protein synthesis. |
