Abstract

The article describes the interrelationships of boar semen collection intensity and the total sperm production. The results are obtained from the statistical analysis of semen collection of boars in artificial insemination centers in the CR. The intensity of sexual exploitation appeared to be one of the most important factors affecting the total sperm yield of boars. The highest values of semen volume were achieved after seven days, spermatozoa concentration after 11 days, spermatozoa activity after four days and spermatozoa number per collection after 10 days of semen collection interval. The effect of collection intensity to abnormal spermatozoa occurrence was not significant. Further, the interrelationships of collection intensity and production ofspermatozoa per one collection and per a year, including a variety of collection patterns are described.
