Abstract

Analyses of haplotypes of milk protein genes in relation to milk production parameters, technological quality, and coagulation properties in Czech Fleckvieh cattle showed the most significant effect of CSN3 gene on milk quality and coagulation properties. Haplotype combinations containing allele B and genotype BB of CSN3 gene were linked with higher contents of protein, casein, solid non-fat, and higher curd quality compared to other haplotypes. Contrary to this, haplotypes containing allele A or E of CSN3 gene were mostly linked with higher yield but lower quality and coagulation of milk. Similar positive effect on quality and coagulation of milk showed allele B of LGB gene in comparison with allele A. The effects of CSN1S1 and CSN2 genes did not show significance in haplotype combinations but the improving effect of CSN1S1 allele C and CSN2 allele A2 in relation to production and quality parameters were apparent compared to CSN1S1 allele B and CSN2 allele A1.
