Abstract

Amino acids are the building blocks of protein. Ten aminoacids are Essentials and they must
be provided in the diet for pigs to synthesize body protein. Arginin is semiessential amino acid. Its need in growing pigs is much higher than the body is able to synthetise. In fully grown animals, the arginin concentration is sufficient to ensure all physiological requirements. Glutamine maintains the integrity of intestinal barrier and supports piglet health.
