Abstract

National Program in the Czech Republic is focused on the preservation of local indigenous breeds of livestock, poultry, fish and bees. Indigenous breeds are usually characterized by good resistance, better use of local feed resources as well as they are part of local history. Under the national program 4 breeds of horses, 2 breeds of cattle, 1 breed of pigs, 2 breeds of sheep, 2 goats, 7 breeds of rabbits, 3 breeds of coypu, 1 breed of hens, 1 breed of geese, a total of 40 breeding flocks of 9 species of fish and 1 breed of bees are supported
