Abstract

Two panels of SNP loci were proposed to assess animal relatedness. In both panels there are loci whose genotypes are determined with a sufficient degree of confidence (min. GC ≥ 70) and which showed a high proportion of the minor allele (pM ≥ 30%) in all evaluated breeds. In both panels, loci are located on all autosomes. The proposed SNP panels can be used to verify the origin of pigs. A sufficient number of animals have been evaluated for the White Large, Landrace and Přeštice Black-Pied breeds, which ensure stability for the evaluation of relatednes. In the case of sire breeds, whose populations are also very dependent on the supply of animals from abroad, the robustness of the proposed panels will have to be continuously verified.
