Abstract

In the years 2022 and 2023, quantitative and qualitative parameters of selected corn hybrids were tested in the Institute of Animal Science. The weight of individual plant parts, plant height, height of the cane and the number of grains per cane were assessed as yield parameters. Chopped samples were analyzed for chemical composition and digestibility. The yields of starch, NEL, methane and milk were also calculated from the obtained data. The digestibility of starch and NDF were determined by the in situ method. Of the tested hybrids, P8888 was the most powerful hybrid in all yield parameters. At the same time, this hybrid had the highest content of CP and starch, which are parameters that are also very important for the production of high-quality silage and subsequently feed rations. Control hybrids achieved higher values in some quality parameters compared to some Pioneer hybrids, however, when converted to yield parameters, they always achieved lower values.
