Abstract

The aim of the study was to evaluate the effect of dietary fatty acids on selected reproduction parameters of gilts. Thirty cross-breed gilts were dividend into three groups and fed with standard feed mixture (control group, S0), mixture with 7 % of linseed (S1) and 1 % of conjugated linoleic acid (S2). The feeding experimental mixtures to gilts started at age 150 days. Gilts were inseminated in the third oestrus and slaughtered 6 days after insemination and following parameters were monitored: weight of left and right ovary, number of corpora lutea and number of embryo. Percentage of fertilized oocytes (recovery rate) was calculated from total number of corpora lutea and total number of embryos. There were not statistically significant differences between groups (P>0,05) in monitored parameters but the highest number of corpora lutea was found in S2 group
