Abstract

Yearly published indicators in the framework of regular and comprehensive milk performance recording of dairy cows are a source of valuable and mostly original information on the development of breed for this cattle category. The relatively high reliability of data and information is based on the fact that 86.8 and 97.5% of all dairy cows have been included in the milk performance recording over the past twenty years. Between 1996 and 2015, the number of dairy cows in the Czech Republic and in performance control decreased by 47, respectively by 41%. The differences between the selected indicators in 2015 and 1996 reach the cow Czech Fleckvieh +2 655 kg of milk per standard lactation and -0.38% and +0.17%, fat content and protein content in milk, Holstein cows +4547 kg production milk -0.54% and +0.08% fat and protein content in milk. For seventeen years, the cows of the Holstein breed are about two months younger at first calving and 16 days longer calving interval.
