The method is a comprehensive manual, enabling a penetrating insight into the issues of evaluation of morphologically abnormal boar sperm. Due to this method, the users have an opportunity to become familiar with processing and subsequent evaluation of samples. The described method includes certificated procedures of boar sperm evaluation, including practical advice and current trends. Attention is paid to the possibilities of using a specialized computer program that significantly facilitates the assessment of detailed sperm morphology under practical conditions. Part of the method are pictorial examples of morphological abnormalities in boar spermatozoa. Reflecting the growing need for detailed semen quality examination in boars, the method is destined primarily for laboratory staff at AI centres, veterinarians, researchers and university specialists who intend to focus on sperm morphology evaluation. It is also a good teaching tool for participants in training courses focused mainly on the insemination of pigs.
