The traditional Farmers‘ Day took place on Tuesday 7 November 2023 in Velká Chyška near Pacov. The event was organized by the Czech Technology Platform for Agriculture in cooperation with the Institute of Animal Science., Department of Livestock Production of the Czech Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and the Agricultural Cooperative Velká Chyška.
The seminar was focused on comparison of production, self-sufficiency and profitability of dairy cow farming across EU countries, identification of weak points in dairy farming, cost-effective reproduction management strategies, and good silage production.
At the event, Bohumír Belada, M.S., the Vice President of the Czech Agrarian Chamber gave a speech. He talked about the impact of current agricultural policy on Czech farmers, focused on the strategic plan of the Common Agricultural Policy, environment payments and national subsidies.
