Housing technology is focused on the use of a new type of outdoor housing for pigs. This new type of outdoor housingcorresponds with the minimum standards for the protection of livestock. The technology was implemented by the Department of pig breeding in Kostelec nad Orlicí and was verified in practical breeding conditions. The housing consists of a thermally insulated shed, the roof is planted with plants, which form the green roof and have an insulating function. In the dry season, the plants are irrigated by drip irrigation using collected rainwater and powered by solar energy.
