The use of a new type of outdoor housing for pigs meets the conditions set by the minimum standards for the protection of livestock. The housing technology was verificated in the practical conditions of the experimental stables of the Department of pig breeding in Kostelec nad Orlicí. The housing consists of a shed with thermally insulated walls, ceiling and floor, the roof of the shed is planted with plants Sedum, which forms a green roof and creates another layer of insulation.
