Abstract | As part of the project solution, peas (Gambit, Protecta, Avatar), broad beans (Merkur, Mistral, Fanfare) and narrow-leaved lupine (Boregine, Rumba) were grown for the purpose of fodder collection. Forage was harvested at four growth stages – Full Flower, End of Flowering, Pod Filling and Wax Maturity. Silage was also created from each grown variety in an IBC container, which was subsequently used to determine the chemical composition and especially to determine the in vivo digestibility of nutrients. Nutrient digestibility was performed on 6 rams using a two-week preparation and a four-day sampling period. The CP yield was highest for broad beans. For legumes, the seed-filling phase seems to be the optimal time for harvesting for silage. At this stage, the dry matter content of the fluff and the pea was the highest. Conversely, these crops showed the lowest fiber and NDF content. In these parameters, narrow-leaved lupine showed the highest values. Beans were found to have the highest lignin content, but also CP. The rumen degradability of dry matter, OM and NDF after 24 hours of incubation in the rumen was the highest in narrow-leaved lupine and the lowest in field pea. For silages, the highest CP content was found in field pea followed by broad beans. The content of NDF and ADF was highest in narrow-leaved lupine. The content of ADL was again highest in broad bean. |
