Maize is currently the most economically important plant in the world. But it is also a promising crop from the point of view of the future in connection with the expected climate change, or global warming, especially in our area of Central Europe. Maize is thermophilic a plant with high adaptability to warming. While a few years ago it was mainly cultivated in the lowlands, now it is also cultivated in the mountains (there its expansion is limited mainly by the greater slope of the terrain).
