Abstract

The aim of the work was to provide a proven technology for laboratory in vitro determination of NDF digestibility in maize silages. This determination must not only be as accurate as possible, but also affordable, especially given the potential wider use in operational agricultural laboratories. The mentioned method is therefore intended especially for agricultural laboratories providing the most comprehensive analyzes of maize silages, which are the most frequently fed roughage in cattle farms in the Czech Republic. The technology created with the use of liquid, affordable enzymes is fully usable for evaluating NDF digestibility in maize silages. Part of this proven technology is a complete description of this in vitro method, including the use of regression equations that allow the conversion of data obtained from various enzymes to a „true“ NDF digestibility value.
