Abstract

The paper is focused on the evaluation of the effectiveness of disinfectants in stables for breeding different age categories of pigs (farrowing house for sows, piglet rearing and pig fattening). Under the field conditions of the pig stables, disinfectant containing three different active substances effective against the African swine fever virus (peroxides, iodophors and glutaraldehyde), total counts of microorganisms were reduced in samples after disinfection by 3 logarithmic units from 106 to 103 per 1 cm2 of barn surfaces. Furthermore, the level of microbial contamination of the stables, including the resistance of microorganisms, the properties and application methods of disinfectants, should also be taken into account.
