Abstract

The experiment took place in southern Moravia in two locations in five consecutive years 2018-2022. Each year, 3 cuttings were harvested and evaluated according to the content of dry matter and nutrients. The weather during the growing season was different every year. From the point of view of precipitation, April was the driest in 5 years, in all the evaluated years. The dry matter content was significantly lowest in the first cut (200 g/kg) when evaluated regardless of the location and the year of the experiment, but an acceptable dry matter content (346 g/kg) was achieved by wilting. The most N-substances were in the third cutting, the most ADF and NDF were in the second cutting and the least in the first cutting. There was the least amount of ash in the second cutting. In the drier season, compared to years with a higher amount of precipitation, the ash content in fresh fodder is lower (100 g/kg dry matter), but there was more of it in wilting forage (125 g/kg dry matter). In the drier season, it is therefore necessary to harvest in such a way that dust does not get into the fodder.
